A two-storey mass-timber operations hub for the Larger Metropolitan Cemeteries Belief has obtained the best honour on the Australian Institute of Architects 2025 Victorian Structure Awards.
The Northern Memorial Park Depot by Searle X Waldron Structure obtained the Victorian Structure Medal. The jury counseled the depot for creating “a sustainable and exquisite office for these in emotionally difficult roles.” The design employs timber as the first structural materials, which is complemented by a pleated and perforated display that wraps the constructing. The challenge additionally earned the Melbourne Prize and a commendation for Sustainable Structure.
