Wittman Estes made probably the most of a small Seattle lot with a two-story addition and a giant bay window that opens to a refreshed yard.

When Charlotte and Adam Aljets purchased their two-bedroom craftsman within the north finish of West Seattle in 2013, they knew it was a bit small—particularly since they deliberate to start out a household. However having two tales, shut proximity to espresso outlets and the library, and a commute by water taxi for Adam was all too good to cross up.

“Our realtor didn’t suppose the home made sense for us,” says Charlotte. “However we had been completely drawn to the model of the house and its craftsman options, and we had a imaginative and prescient for making it into one thing that we may stay in long run.”

As for the yard, it was completely serviceable for his or her youngsters—Elias, Henry, Noel, and Elsie—as toddlers. “However they outgrew its small house as they moved towards actions like whiffle ball and tag,” says Charlotte.

Inside the home, the household was changing into equally squeezed, with everybody sharing the solo toilet upstairs and Adam’s distant work setup tucked right into a nook of the bed room. “We had been kind-of bursting on the seams,” says Charlotte.
