This Colonial Revival home gets a stunning makeover in the hills of Los Feliz

Situated within the hills of Los Feliz, Los Angeles, this basic California Colonial Revival house was initially designed by architect Milton Black in 1936 and sits perched close to the Griffith Observatory. Commune Design’s inside renovation respects the house’s historic character and formal format whereas introducing a extra relaxed, up to date sensibility by shade, graphic patterns, collected furnishings, and artisanal craftsmanship.

Thoughtfully layered and private, the designer’s intent was to showcase the proprietor’s artwork assortment gathered through the years. The brand new design preserves the house’s unique casement home windows and the formality of a lot of the social rooms and stairs, whereas new furnishings and finishes refresh the area all through.
