Entries are actually open for the twenty-third version of the Gold Coast City Design Awards.
This system recognises tasks that exemplify design excellence, liveability and sustainability throughout seven classes: Excellence in City Design Award; Award for City Design Management; City Design Award for Public Tasks; City Design Award for Personal Tasks; City Design Award for Sustainability and Resilience Tasks; Commendation; and Award for the Development of City Design – Unbuilt Tasks.
Earlier winners of the celebrated Excellence in City Design Award embody The Spit Redevelopment submitted by Place Design Group, awarded in 2023; Kurrawa Terrace Occasion Area submitted by 8la Architects, awarded in 2020; and Parklands venture submitted by AAA – a three way partnership between architects Arkhefield, ARM and Archipelago, awarded in 2017.
The jury contains David Wagner, nationwide president of the Australian Institute of Architects and founding associate of Atelier Wagner Architects; Glen Energy, panorama architect; Nicole Bennetts, nationwide head of coverage and advocacy on the Planning Institute of Australia; and Tanya Martin, director of GTM Advisory.
