Brazilian follow Studio Melina Romano has used Portinari tiles and works by Brazilian artists and designers to outfit a residential-style showcase in São Paulo.
The Caminhos – Portinari presentation was created for the 2024 version of CasaCor, São Paulo’s annual celebration of artwork and design.
Inside a 200-square-metre area on the metropolis’s Conjunto Nacional shopping center, the architect and designer Melina Romano utilized large-scale porcelain tiles from Brazilian model Portinari throughout the partitions and flooring.
The area invited guests alongside a pathway that guided them from room to room, envisioned extra like a gallery than a residential surroundings.

“Upon crossing the doorway portal, guests are guided by a hall that marks the transition from exterior to inside, creating a particular and immersive expertise,” stated the studio.
“Impressed by the dynamics of artwork galleries, the venture prioritises pathways that encourage contemplation of the artworks.”

From an entry hall that “deliberately slows down motion and reframes notion”, every neutrally embellished room was enlivened by the work of a neighborhood artist.
