A cohesive mix of pure timbers, together with Douglas fir, cherry and ash wooden, has been used to outline the interiors of Cove restaurant, self-designed by chef Flynn McGarry.
McGarry, who designed his first restaurant, Gem, in 2018, meant to create a fine-dining expertise for his second enterprise, Cove in New York’s Hudson Sq. neighbourhood.
Named after Paradise Cove, a seashore in Malibu close to McGarry’s childhood residence, the delicacies and interiors of the restaurant intend to replicate the spirit of California.
“I needed to create a relaxed, spacious, and heat ambiance, the place each the meals and interiors are formed by native substances,” McGarry advised Dezeen.

The area consists of two eating rooms wrapped round an open kitchen, each that includes a refined pure materials palette.
McGarry labored with Hudson Valley-based Grainwood Studio to create customized cherry wooden cabinetry and eating tables, paired with J42 chairs from Danish furnishings firm, Hay.

“I needed every little thing to be quite simple and targeted on wooden,” McGarry defined.
