Some time again, I wrote about Maria Le Mesurier’s minimalist house in West Sussex, UK. Regardless of a raucous household life with 5 children ranging in age from 4 to 18, the designer and her furnishings maker husband, Paul, have been capable of create (and keep) a peaceful, neutral-toned, palette-cleansing house. (See A Design Couple’s Little one-Pleasant, Muddle-Free House.) Their vacation decorations are equally minimalist, naturalistic, and refreshing.
“Aside from the Christmas bushes and lights, I by no means ever purchase decorations as I don’t see the purpose, after I can discover every little thing I would like on the bottom within the woods,” says Maria.
Beneath, Maria walks us via how she decorates each room of their house for the vacation season with foliage, most of it discovered (and free!) on her property.

Entrance Door
Above: Crabapple tree branches encompass the festive entrance door. “They’re from the bushes that had been planted on the place the place my older brother died, so they’re very particular to me.
