Within the Village d’Auteuil in Paris’s sixteenth arrondissement, designer Francesco Balzano of After Bach has reworked a 775-square-foot Haussmann residence as his own residence and studio. Situated close to Villa Montmorency and the Fondation Le Corbusier, the residence sits in one in every of Paris’s quieter residential neighborhoods—”calm, vegetation, and historical past—and really near the countryside,” as Balzano places it.
Renovated over the previous two years, the inside is conceived as a refined Parisian backyard: a palette of pale inexperienced and ivory; white and inexperienced onyx; and flooring in ash parquet, sisal, and abaca. Organized round a gallery-like entry corridor with east-west publicity, the residence integrates items from Balzano’s personal designs alongside artwork, antiques, and references to Italian architect Piero Portaluppi. Right here’s a glance inside.
