The Sacrifice of Sentiment by Anouska Mann

“In a hyper-automated world, human relationships have vanished, changed by Layered Intelligence Neural Kinetics (LINK). Promoting intimacy as a product, LINK provides seamless companionship, stripped of human flaws.

“Deep inside its headquarters lies a forbidden chamber, accessible solely to the elite. Right here, relics of true connection – work, movies and poetry – linger as ghostly echoes of what synthetic intelligence (AI) can’t replicate.

“Past a glowing threshold, a hushed tunnel of yielding foam and woven nylon cocoons guests in eerie anticipation. At its coronary heart, a domed sanctuary breathes with gentle, interactive veils revealing misplaced feelings at a contact.

“For the privileged few, this chamber is each a sanctuary and a vault. Right here they mine humanity’s misplaced essence and emotional wealth, permitting them to refine LINK’s synthetic ‘intimacy’ whereas maintaining true connection locked away.”
