The range of labor in Rendered Futures articulates architectural drawing as a shape-shifting and typically radical type. Not solely a method of technical instruction and illustration of the constructed realm, drawing will also be a web site for advocacy, experimentation and cultural manufacturing, a lot of which isn’t seen past the self-discipline itself.

Taking a broad view throughout its timespan — a interval of huge technological disruption to the instruments of image-making — the exhibition considers how drawing is altering. The drawing course of is more and more codified by way of computer-aided design, standardising representations of structure and impacting the way in which it’s taught and communicated. Rendered Futures asks what this variation might imply for drawing’s affect on the self-discipline; for its inventive and significant potential within the futures to come.
