Refined aesthetics, clear narratives and a dedication to consumer wellbeing had been the widespread themes among the many winners of the 2025 Australian Inside Design Awards, introduced on 6 June in Melbourne.
The jury commented that, “the strongest tasks place human expertise on the forefront, creating immersive spatial environments that educate, deliver pleasure, nurture and encourage.”
The jury awarded Central by J.AR Workplace the Premier Award for Australian Inside Design, praising it as a “extremely ingenious venture” that was “executed with a stage of cleverness that makes use of constraints to its benefit.” Central is a superior instance of emotive inside design, creating an area for enjoyable, raucous nights out, and likewise took dwelling the Hospitality Design Award and the Better of State Industrial for Queensland Award.
The 2025 jury comprised Katherine Ashe (Vittino Ashe), Maria Correia (Grey Puksand), Ben Edwards (Studio Edwards), Will Fung (CO-AP), Peta Heffernan (Liminal Studio), Shona McElroy (Smac Studio), Damien Mulvihill (Design Workplace), and Tamara White (Warren and Mahoney). The jury was convened by Geraldine Maher, Director of Maher Design and Katherine Featherstone (Inexperienced Constructing Council of Australia) joined as sustainability advisor.
The jury shared that this 12 months’s awards “are a possibility for our business to face again, take all of it in and genuinely have a good time the standard of inside design being produced in Australia at present. We may give ourselves a collective pat on the again as we proceed to supply work that’s ingenious and complex.”
