Idea designs for a brand new library, performing arts theatre and city park in Footscray have been unveiled by the Metropolis of Maribyrnong, whose imaginative and prescient for the challenge is to “create a related and inclusive civic hub” in Melbourne’s west.
The design of the challenge – named “Artistic West” – has been led by Architectus and Public Realm Lab, in collaboration with Glas Panorama Architects, with the designers having labored intently with Wurundjeri Elders and the group, the crew’s media communique notes.
Their idea design attracts inspiration from the pre-colonial topography of the Maribyrnong River escarpment, with the constructing’s roofline unfolding in direction of the city park to permit pure mild deep into the inside and create sheltered terraces and locations for gathering.
