Joyful holidays! This week we’re revisiting our favourite festive tales from years previous, like this one:

In 2012, beloved English kitchen model deVOL remodeled a Sixteenth-century water mill into their headquarters. The historic, five-story constructing, which is situated on the banks of the River Soar in rural Leicestershire, homes each company places of work and elaborate showrooms. Whereas updates have been made to accommodate the corporate, authentic components like heavy beams, mullioned home windows, creaky floorboards, and wobbly partitions stay.

“There are lots of evidences of its historical past as a mill, like wheels and pulleys and hatches for reducing grain,” says deVOL inventive director Helen Parker. “Every room is completely different, permitting us to create uncommon and provoking shows that give a way of house slightly than a showroom.”

That cozy residential vibe is particularly evident within the Heirloom Assortment Kitchen, the most recent showroom at Cotes Mill. With a burgundy and blush colour scheme and old-world particulars like an outsized plate rack and linen cabinet curtains, the prepare dinner house oozes countryside appeal. The one factor lacking is a candy grandmother chopping greens on the European oak and Carrara marble dairy desk. Let’s take a more in-depth look.
