Over the previous few years, we’ve coated plenty of tasks by Barcelona-based design agency Conti, Cert. All of them share an analogous aesthetic—white-ish partitions, excessive beamed ceilings, clear traces, a lightweight contact—but each single time we encounter a brand new venture by its founders, Andrea Conti and Isabel Cert, we’re smitten yet again.
Our newest obsession: an ethereal, unpretentious house that Conti, Cert transformed for a French household of 5 residing in Poblenou, an up-and-coming neighborhood in Barcelona. An appropriate house for a big household can really feel a bit like a unicorn in city areas, so their shoppers resorted to an age-old big-city resolution: luck right into a state of affairs that permits them to mix two flats. “The flats have been actually darkish and previous. They’d lots of partitions, and each area was divided,” say the designers. “We tore every part down and constructed the distribution from scratch with the shoppers, taking care of their wants. The consequence as a vibrant, spacious two-story house.”
The upstairs and downstairs flats are actually linked through a brand new staircase—and their shoppers, a photographer and an funding banker, lastly have the “cozy, heat and timeless home” of their goals.
Take a look.
