That is my thesis challenge from college.
The Caribbean Artwork Institute is an architectural and concrete counter-proposal to AECOM's waterfront masterplan in Barranquilla, Colombia. Sited alongside the Magdalena River on the grounds of the navy barracks and adjoining to the first Carnaval parade route, this proposal addresses intersecting cultural, historic, and concrete situations. Guided by 5 core rules – Water, Heritage, Flora, Local weather, and Group – this intervention protects Barranquilla's traditions by embracing native character and offering public areas for cultural manifestations. It additionally reestablishes the town's severed connection to the river and offers ecological remediation towards city warmth and flash flooding. Positioned because the central public component of the proposed park, the Institute serves as an anchor for the brand new community of greenery and parade routes. Collectively, these areas create a brand new type of cultural infrastructure, integrating the city and pure environments with cultural exercise.
