2026 South Australian Architecture Awards

The winners of the Australian Institute of Architects’ 2026 South Australian Structure Awards have been introduced at a ceremony in Adelaide.

Awards director Dave Bickmore commented, “The 2026 SA Structure Awards recognise tasks delivered in an more and more complicated atmosphere, formed by rising prices, housing pressures and world uncertainty. Situated on the Port River, the Aboriginal-led cultural centre Yitpi Yartapuultiku (The Soul of Port Adelaide), by Ashley Halliday Architects along with the Yitpi Yartapuultiku Aboriginal Working Group and Wax Design, took out the awards’ prime prize. Along with receiving the SA Structure Medal, the challenge picked up the Jack McConnell Award for Public Structure, the Derrick Kendrick Award for Sustainable Structure and the Colorbond Award for Metal Structure.

Within the Residential Structure – Homes (New) and Inside Structure classes, Archaea took out each named awards for his or her challenge Yeo Yo, whereas Moorundi Well being Centre by Phillips Pilkington Architects acquired the named award for Industrial Structure, commendations for Inside Structure and Sustainable Structure, in addition to the state’s Inventive Collaboration Prize, and Tonsley Technical Faculty and Flinders Manufacturing unit of the Future by Das Studio received the EmAGN Challenge Award, together with awards for Sustainable Structure and Instructional Structure.
