Brett Whiteley Studio reopens with new roof extension

The previous residence and studio of Australian artist Brett Whiteley (1939–1992) in Sydney’s Surry Hills has reopened to the general public following two years’ closure to finish in depth upgrades. Led by native structure follow Tonkin Zulaikha Greer (TZG), the renovations – which embrace a particular new roof extension – have been geared toward preserving the constructing and its artworks, in the meantime enhancing its accessibility and guests’ expertise.

Previously the artist’s remaining residence and studio, The Brett Whiteley Studio spans a three-storey former warehouse that has been managed as a museum by the Artwork Gallery of New South Wales since 1995.
